- I have lived most of my life in the UK and USA. I have now come to a village in Sri Lanka, I could never have imagined I would live in. It is so different to what I have hitherto experienced. I feel I am born again and have to learn to live a new life.

It is a relief to see you back in cyberspace. I am an avid reader of your informative, unpretentious and amusing and well analysed blogs. So, first I want to thank you for your efforts.
I would like to know if you look at your new life as a permanent thing or short distraction from a ‘normal’ middleclass life. Also, do you see your giving up on Western ( or Western provincial) security and comforts as an Abhinishkramanaya to seek a longer term happiness or taking up a different type of comfort and security?
